  • THINGS A WOMAN SHOULDN’T DO FOR A MAN.

THINGS A WOMAN SHOULDN’T DO FOR A MAN.

You do not have to lose yourself or your happiness just because you are in a relationship with a man

It’s surprising sometimes the things ladies do to please their men all in the name of love. Some even go as far as losing themselves in the process of doing their best to keep him.

However, the fact that some things are done in the name of love does not guarantee that they are the right things to do.

    1.Halting your dreams for him

If your man ever puts you in a situation where you are supposed to choose between your career dreams and him, put yourself first. Don’t allow the tentacles of love to steal your focus and aspiration. It is your dream, don’t compromise that for anything.

Rather be with someone who will be your cheerleader instead of adding to your headache.

    2. Never give in to demands if you do not want to

If you are not comfortable with his demands, you don’t have to hide to it just to prove your love for him.

We are different people with different preferences, ideas, experiences and many more.

    3. Change your appearance

Don’t alter your look for your man just because of what he labels “his type” or “fetish”.

They should love you for you, and all of you. If your weight, hair, or style really bothers him, he’s clearly not with you for the right reasons.

Any physical changes you make should be made because you want them, not for attention or for someone else

    4.Giving him too much power

Don’t accord him soo much power to operate where his silence makes you question yourself worth.

A strong woman plays by her rules and doesn’t sit around for instructions. You should be assertive and go forward with your own decisions rather than seek validation from someone else. You’re grown enough to know what’s best for you.

  • HOCKEY: AFRICA ROAD TO TOKYO 2020 QUALIFIER: GHANA MEET SOUTH AFRICA IN MUST-WIN CLASH

HOCKEY: AFRICA ROAD TO TOKYO 2020 QUALIFIER: GHANA MEET SOUTH AFRICA IN MUST-WIN CLASH

Ghana’s male hockey team returns to action today after a day’s rest to face a tough encounter against hosts South Africa as they chase a qualification ticket for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Today’s clash at the hockey stadium of the Stellenbosch University in South Africa pits two sides with a perfect run in the competition, but for Ghana, it is a chance to claim maximum points and also end their opponent’s dominance over them at major international competitions.

    Must-win affair

After victories over Kenya and Namibia, the Ghanaian side is geared up for their toughest test yet against a free-scoring South African side who were on a rampage with a 9-0 drubbing of Zimbabwe on Tuesday, August 13 having earlier beaten Namibia 3-1 a day before in their opening fixture of the African 2020 Olympic Games qualifying competition.

The last time the two sides clashed at the 2017 Africa Nations Hockey Cup in the Egyptian city of Ismailia, South Africa ran away with the maximum points with a 3-2 victory and went ahead to win the continental competition.

Incidentally, all the players who scored in that match -South Africa’s Taine Paton and Ntuli Nqobile, Ghana’s Michael Baiden and Ernest Opoku – are expected to feature in today’s must-win clash.

With just one slot up for grabs, today’s game is a win-or-bust affair for either side, especially as group leaders Egypt are also in a good position to qualify for next year’s summer Olympics.

  • GHANA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ESTABLISHES ADR FOR BUSINESS DISPUTES

GHANA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ESTABLISHES ADR FOR BUSINESS DISPUTES

Businesses with protracted cases at the courts can now seek redress at an Alternative Dispute Resolution, (ADR) Center that has been created by the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI).

This follows complaints by businesses about the slow and stressful legal process in resolving commercial disputes.

The ADR center is to provide an immediate and local seat of mediation for businesses that are unable to get their disagreements resolved on time at the conventional courts.

Alternative Dispute Resolution ADR is basically a form of resolving disputes without resorting to the law court and includes methods such as arbitration, negotiation, and mediation which complements the traditional justice system.

The Center is a partnership between the GNCCI and law firm, Gamey & Gamey.

Speaking to Citi Business News after the two partners signed a Memorandum of Understanding, President of the GNCCI, Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso I expressed confidence, the move will complement the government’s efforts at providing an enabling environment for the private sector.

“Business disputes will always be with us as long as we remain in business, and the opportunity to have our business disputes resolved within the shortest possible time and with less cost, coupled with the maintaining of the cordial business relationships after the settlement, is what every business person is looking for.”

  • A BAN ON IMPORT OF VEHICLES OVER 10 YEARS OLD TO BE IMPLEMENTED- KYEREMATENG

A BAN ON IMPORT OF VEHICLES OVER 10 YEARS OLD TO BE IMPLEMENTED- KYEREMATENG

Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyeremateng says the government is ready to implement a ban on the importation of vehicles older than 10 years among other measures as part of efforts to create a competitive automotive industry while protecting Ghanaians from the dangers of old vehicles.

He made the comments at the launch of the new Ghana Automotive Development policy here in Accra.

According to the Minister, the Automotive Industry plays a strategic role in economic development in respect of employment creation, contribution to GDP, and building of industries like metals, glass, plastics, rubber, and electronics.

He also pointed out the benefits to other areas such as vehicle financing, insurance, warehousing, automobile parts, after-market services, among others.

“The difference between what we did in the late 60s and now is the fact that we are now making sure that we have an Auto Policy. People have lost faith in governments, but I can tell you that if we don’t do anything at all, at least we can provide a framework and an environment for the private sector to succeed.”

Among the strategic objectives of the policy is the establishment of a competitive automotive industry, generation of highly-skilled, well-paid jobs (direct and indirect) in automotive assembly, the pursuit of import substitution and exports to improve the balance of payments and the improvement of road safety for all Ghanaian.

The staff of Standard Chartered last Friday undertook a clean-up exercise at the Accra Rehabilitation Centre and also donated assorted items for the upkeep of the students at the Centre.

Commenting on the essence of the initiative, Asiedua Addae, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing said the outreach was part of activities to mark the Bank’s Total Wellness Week celebrations and forms part of the Banks overall community engagement agenda.

  • BOG OUTLAWS DEPOSIT MOBILISATION FEES, THREATENS TO SANCTION ERRING BANKS

BOG OUTLAWS DEPOSIT MOBILISATION FEES, THREATENS TO SANCTION ERRING BANKS

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has directed Banks and Specialized Deposit-taking Institutions (SDIs) to desist from the payment of facilitation/business development fees or any other fees to attract deposits henceforth.

The Central Bank said any institution which fails to comply with this notice shall be severely sanctioned.

In a public notice, the Bank of Ghana said it “observed, during the banking industry clean up exercise, a practice whereby facilitation/business development fees or some other payments are made to agents who assist in the mobilization of Wholesale Deposits, particularly from the public sector.”

The BoG added that “The practice had the tendency to increase the “Cost of Funds” of institutions, which invariably was passed onto customers through high lending rates.”

The public notice signed by the Secretary to the BoG, Frances Van-Hein Sackey stated, “The Bank of Ghana wishes to draw the attention of Banks and SDIs to Section 16 (1) (f) of the Banks and Specialized Deposit-Taking Act, 2016 (Act 930) which gives the Bank of Ghana authority to revoke the licence of any institution which in the judgement of the Bank of Ghana, is deemed to be engaged in unsafe or unsound banking practices.

All Banks, SDIs and the general public are to take note of the above and be guided accordingly.”

  • NO DECISION TAKEN ON COCOA PRODUCER PRICE — COCOBOD

NO DECISION TAKEN ON COCOA PRODUCER PRICE — COCOBOD

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has denied media reports that it plans to increase the producer price paid to cocoa farmers in the 2019/20 cocoa season to GH¢8,000 per tonne.

It said beyond the reports being untrue, they were premature as the Producer Price Review Committee (PPRC), which met every year to fix the farm gate price, was yet to meet and take a decision.

The Head of Public Affairs of COCOBOD, Mr Fiifi Boafo, who said this in an interview on August 8, thus advised cocoa farmers, industry stakeholders and the general public to disregard the reports.

“The information out there is not true; no decision has been made and we are yet to call for PPRC meeting and that is about a month away.

“So nobody has the right, mandate and information to determine what the price will be, and we want the public to disregard any information to the contrary,” he told the Daily Graphic in Accra.
