I’m not interested in begging to return – Allotey Jacobs on NDC suspension.

Social Commentator and suspended member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs says he has no intention of pleading with executives of the party to rescind their decision.

    Suspension

A letter addressed to Allotey Jacobs and signed by the National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, said he was suspended for “persistent anti-party conduct”.

“The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress, acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party, at its meeting held on Wednesday, the 6th day of May, 2020, has suspended you forthwith as a member of the party, pursuant to articles 46(1), 46(6) and 46(8) of the party’s constitution for your persistent anti-party conduct,” the letter indicated.

    Allotey not begging

On Friday’s edition of ‘Adekye Nsroma’ on UTV, host of the show, Yaa Konama asked the former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC if he will plead with the party to take him back in the spirit of reconciliation following the demise of the founder of his party.

However, Allotey Jacobs said he’s not ‘interested’ in pleading with executives of the party and that any form of reconciliation should come from the party.

“I’m not interested; they should decide among themselves. After all, politics is about you, yourself, and people. I am not going to fight for me to be brought back . . . the progress of this country is more important and speaking the truth will be the bane of my political campaign if in the future I should be on the political trail . . . “

“If there should be a spirit of reconciliation then it should come from NDC, not me . . . I think I have done enough for NDC especially in bringing Prof Mills (late) to power. There are a lot of things people don’t know and there are things that young boys in the party write and insult, but I don’t want to talk about it. It’s the same thing they did to former President Rawlings but he’s gone and may he rest in peace,” he lamented.

There has been a book of condolence opened at the Accra International Conference Center for loved ones to bid the former president farewell.

After signing the book of condolence, the general secretary of the opposition NDC, Mr Johnson Assiedu Nketia, popularly known as general mosquito had a one- on-one interview with Accra based Adom Fm on their morning talk show dubbed, ‘Dwaso nsɛm’ where he sent a strong message to the wife of the late former president, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.

During the interview, the host of the show, Jerry Forson asked the general secretary the chances of Agyemang Rawlings in the NDC after her husband’s demise and the reply he gave was should the wife of their late founder decide to dissolve her party the NDP to re-join the NDC, they will welcome her with open arms.

The important thing is that the party will be seen to be growing when those who are leaving are fewer than those who are coming on board”, he concluded.

5 killed in head-on collision on Obuasi-Dunkwa road

  • NDC Research Team Arrested In The Eastern Region

NDC Research Team Arrested In The Eastern Region

The current government has been branded by a section of Ghanaians including journalist for being intolerance. Accusations include the government aiming to win the upcoming December elections with violence.

The media including investigative journalist Manasseh Azure have in comparison confessed that they felt safe under the opposition government NDC than the current government the NPP.

Per observations and reports members of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), are arrested for little or no offense where as members of the governing NPP such as Hawa Koomson and Kennedy Agyapong walk freely for greater offenses.

The arrest of four persons conducting research for the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, in the Upper Manya Krobo Constituency of the Eastern Region has heightened political tension in the area.

The four were arrested Saturday November 14, 2020 by armed Police officers led by the District Police Commander John Yeboah while in a community administering questionnaires.

They were, however, granted bail four hours after the intervention of the party executives.

Police also impounded motorbikes which they were using to move around.

Addressing the media on Sunday, Kwasi Lawer spokesperson for the Campaign team of the NDC in the Constituency questioned the basis for the arrest of their members conducting survey for the party.

    He said:

just as any other organizations like the media, students and the Civil Societies conduct surveys, we in the NDC also have that same right to conduct a survey and that was exactly what we were doing before the needless arrest by the police. We want to ask the police , when did conducting a research or a survey and campaigning become a crime in Ghana?

“The District Police Command who is said to be acting on the directives of the top NPP executives reluctantly granted our party faithfuls bail after several hours of being in police custody”

” the Police Command who is supposed to act professionally per the code of ethics of the service, has thrown the laws of the land to the dogs, forgetting that his allegiance is to the state and not the governing party”.

He said the NPP unleashed thugs on their party faithfuls during the voters registration exercise but the local police failed to act which has emboldened them to fester similar intimidation tactics going into the main election, therefore demanding, that Police come out with a roadmap to ensure peaceful election on December 7.

The Party, however, charged all members and sympathizers in the Upper Manya Krobo Constituency “to remain vigilant and be security conscious due to what we have seen in Akatawia, when our opponents brought cutlasses to intimate us during the voter registration.

“We haven’t forgotten how some of our party faithfuls were unfairly transferred, some slapped and beaten at various polling stations by no less a person but the NPP MP Hon. Joseph Tetteh himself”.

The NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Upper Manya Krobo, Bismark Tetteh said the NDC may be forced to retaliate the NPP if the Police cannot be a neutral arbiter .

“NPP thinks they can only win this election through violence. We are ready for them.We are for peace of course we know we are winning so we don’t have issues to fight people of we are winning then we must ensure that there is peace however we are also ready for whoever wants to bring violence to Upper Manya”

However , the Upper Manya Krobo NPP has been reacting to this development accusing the NDC of inciting the people under the guise of survey.

“Yesterday some of their youth went to the villages precisely Odumata and they went there to ask the people whether if they vote for Hon Joe T and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo won’t there be a war and the people asked them are you here to campaign and cause confusion indeed the area became chaotic.

“Police had the intelligence and went there so they brought the guys who disguised under conducting research to the police station to write their statement. I was there ,nobody detained them, NPP have no time to follow them with their fallacies” Philip Kwaku Mamphey a stalwart of the NPP in Upper Manya said.

The Upper Manya Krobo Constituency is one of the hottest areas in this year’s election as the NDC pushes hard to recapture its long occupied seat snatched in 2016 by the incumbent NPP Member of Parliament Joseph Tetteh who is seeking reelection.

The Asesewa District Police Commander John Yeboah was however unavailable to respond to allegations of bias levelled against him.

These allegations suggest that some authorities of the Police force are in with the current government as they intimidate members of the opposition NDC.

Ghana goes to the polls on December 7. The EC has promised a fair, transparent and peaceful election.

  • Europe is ready for Biden to get started.

Europe is ready for Biden to get started.

President Trump and his supporters don’t seem to think it’s over. Over the weekend, thousands marched in Washington protesting the election result.

On Twitter, Trump vowed to not concede and repeated baseless and false claims of widespread voter fraud. On Sunday network shows, analysts puzzled over whether Trump’s defiance ought to be read as a corrosive threat to American democracy or one last farce in the waning twilight of his presidency.

But across the Atlantic, societies and governments seem eager to turn the page. A recent Morning Consult poll found that news of President-elect Joe Biden’s victory almost immediately boosted the U.S.’s net favorability by more than 20 points in Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

During a parliamentary session last week, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson referred to Trump as the “previous president.” German Chancellor Angela Merkel welcomed Biden’s election and hoped he would reinvigorate transatlantic ties. The United States and the European Union “must stand together in order to face the great challenges of our time,” Merkel said.

Those challenges include climate change. Biden is expected to return the United States to the Paris climate pact upon his January inauguration. French President Emmanuel Macron said a Biden presidency presented a new chance to “make our planet great again.”

In an interview with Today’s WorldView, the European Union’s top diplomat expressed a similar confidence. “The world will be different with the U.S. in the fight against climate [change],” said Josep Borrell, the E.U.’s foreign affairs chief. He added that it is “extraordinarily good news” that Washington will be back on the “same side of history” as other governments that seemed more committed than Trump to curb emissions and wean their economies off fossil fuels.

Borrell didn’t mince words about the broader toll that four years of Trumpism had exacted on Europe. “For the first time, we had a president of the United States who publicly and explicitly declared his animosity for the European Union,” said Borrell, pointing to the well-known catalogue of barbs launched by Trump at the continental bloc. Trump championed Brexit and urged other European nations to also quit the E.U.; he listed some European countries as “national security” threats to justify slapping tariffs on them; and he showed constant scorn for myriad institutions and organizations that for decades underpinned U.S.-Europe relations.

Borrell, a veteran politician who once served as Spain’s foreign minister, said that the “national populism” reflected in Trumpism and kindred far-right movements in Europe still poses “a threat” to the “stability of liberal democracies.” But Trump’s bruising behavior also served as a “strategic wake-up call” for many European policymakers, Borrell said, accelerating a reckoning on the continent that “we have to take some of our problems in our own hands without expecting the Americans to come and solve them.

Still, Europe’s political elites are relieved that a less polarizing figure may soon take his seat in the White House. “The very idea of the Western world was falling apart and it has to be rebuilt,” Borrell said. “We don’t expect President Biden to do miracles. But we want to make the most of this new chapter.”

That begins with a Biden administration returning — or trying to return — to the multilateral pacts or international organizations that Trump rejected. Borrell said the Europeans have struggled “to keep alive” the Iran nuclear deal, in part because of the Trump administration’s threat of sanctions on European companies that sought to do business with Iran.

Under Biden, he hopes for a return to economic concessions to coax the Iranians back on their side. Since Trump imposed a vast regime of sanctions on the Iranian economy, the country’s stockpile of enriched uranium has increased. Borrell said that arresting this trend is “mutually beneficial for everybody, for the stability of the region and for common security.”

Dumsor destroyed the Kumawood movie industry – Akrobeto.

For years now, Ghanaians have been wondering how the Kumawood movie industry just died out simple like that. It was rising so fast it has amazed people how it just died out.

Akwasi Boadi, aka Akrobeto, has finally spoken on what causes the death of Ghana Music Awards, especially the Kumawood movie industry.
According to the veteran actor, the country’s erratic power supply, especially between 2015 and 2016, caused the moving industry’s collapse.

Akrobeto claims it was the beginning of all the movie industry problems because even people who bought the movies could not watch them.
Because of that, producers could not continue producing more movies, which also affected the actors and production crew, totally crippling the movie industry.

Akrobeto was one of the panelists on Mcbrown’s show on UTV and that was when he spoke on what caused the collapse of the Kumawood movie industry.

He was always beating me-Funny Face’s baby mama finally comes out to expose him.

Finally, Vanessa, the baby mama of Funny Face, has come out to expose Funny Face and set the record straight on why she left him.

According to Vanessa, in a new voice note received by GhPage, Funny Face was beating the hell out of her the least chance he gets.
She narrated how she was saved by Maame Yeboah Asiedu when Funny Face beat her for asking him to help take care of their twins.

Vanessa explained the same Maame Yeboah Asiedu came to her rescue and took her to her own home to stay with her for 4 days with her children.
After insulting the woman when she took her away, Funny Face recorded another video pleading for forgiveness. It was the same woman she is now insulting that begged on his behalf to settle their relationship problems.

This is the first time Funny Face’s baby mama has uttered a word in public to explain why she had to leave Funny Face, and from what she has said, it simply boils down to how Funny Face was always abusing her.

Interestingly, she is pregnant again for Funny Face. She was pregnant before leaving Funny Face’s house, and reports reaching GhPage allege that Funny Face does not even take care of her and her unborn baby. It’s the same Maame Yeboah Asiedu helping her out in Kumasi, where she lives now.
