A new video of actress Fella Makafui is trending on social media. In the video, the mother of one was seen enjoying the full benefit of a police escort much to the chagrin of Ghanaian netizens.
Some comments sighted by Dikoder.com sees people asking questions as to why on earth would Fella Makafui be given a police escort and whether she’s deserving of it?
Fella as seen the in the video was jamming on her husband Medikal’s La Hustle song. There was traffic in town but by the aid of the police escort, she speedily cruised past all vehicles.
Well, just so you know, Fella Makafui by every standard is a celebrity in Ghana so she can decide to use an escort to go about her rounds.
According to what we found on Wikipedia, a police escort, also known as a law enforcement escort, is a feature offered by most law enforcement agencies to assist in transporting important individuals.
This is done by means of assigning police vehicles, primarily cars or motorcycles, to precede, surround, and/or follow a vehicle, or group of vehicles. Other government departments also provide escort services, such as Secret Service and Military police.
An escort can range widely in size, beginning with a single vehicle. They almost always assist with motorcades for the transportation of senior public officials, such as heads of state or heads of government, or can be hired by celebrities, professional athletes, or for funerals.

Nana Ama McBrown has starred in an American feature film titled “Coming To Africa”
Celebrated star Ghanaian actress Nana Ama McBrown has starred in an American feature film titled Coming To Africa.
The movie, written and directed by American filmmaker Anwar Jamison, was shot in Accra and Memphis.
The Accra scenes in the movie were shot in 2019, during the Year of Return celebrations.
The romantic comedy is woven around a Black American man (Jamison) who lives in his comfort zone and refuses to criticise any social ills for the fear of upsetting his privilege life.
But when something happens and he visits Ghana (Africa), his perspective changes after he meets and falls in love with Akosua, a role played by McBrown.
A synopsis of the film on Imdb.com reads:”Adrian (Anwar Jamison), a philandering financial executive, has spent his entire life shunning Black consciousness and chasing corporate success. Adrian’s brother, Buck (Khalil Kain), is an activist who routinely holds community meetings in his barbershop. After a perfect storm of disappointment and discrimination, Adrian finds himself in Ghana on an amusing adventure where he meets Akosua (Nana Ama McBrown) and finds nourishment for his soul.”
The movie was supposed to be released in cinemas earlier in 2020 but had to be postponed to October because of restrictions caused by COVID-19.
Ahead of the release, a trailer of the movie has popped up online showing McBrown in action.
Apart from McBrown, the trailer shows other Ghanaian movies stars including David Dontoh and Paulina Oduro.
The movie has also been selected for screening at the 23rd Annual Indie Memphis Film Festival down on the Mighty Mississippi River, Friday, October 23, 2020.
Jamison announced this on Instagram by sharing the selection poster.

Differences between an Intelligent Person and a Wise Person
1. Intelligent person learns from other people’s life experiences while wise person learns from going through those life experiences by themselves.
2. Intelligent person is equipped with knowledge while wise person guides his life based on his judgements.
3. Intelligent person usually employs logic to make decisions while wise person typically trusts their spirituality and emotionality with this task.
4. Intelligent person relies on his rationale more often than on his intuition while wise person usually trusts his gut feeling as it is rarely wrong.
5. Knowledge can be shared but wisdom not always. In other words, it is far easier for intelligent people to share what they have gathered while for wise people, it requires extra effort and even then, what they want to say can be wrongly construed or misunderstood, so their imparted wisdom cannot always reach its listeners.
Hermann Hesse’s quote from Siddhartha sums it up the best: “Wisdom cannot be imparted. Wisdom that a wise man attempts to impart always sounds like foolishness to someone else … Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom.”
One important caveat: Some people can be both intelligent, as well as wise, and in that case, it is just a matter of preference which side of you (intelligent vs. wise) outweighs the other, making the decisions based on it.

Health Benefits from Egg and Pepper
Today, we’re going to look at a fantastic combination I guess you will like it more, egg and pepper. I believe it is one thing you can’t resist when on a journey in a hot afternoon. What I may not know is who brought the idea of placing the pepper in between the divided egg, but what I can tell you is that it is one of the complete meals you can actually find on earth. Why do I say that? Now let’s take the egg. We all know that egg contains high amount of protein; Six (6) grams of protein which is actually enough for the protein that you need in the day.
Egg contains vitamin A which supports hair and skin development and protects the eye, contains vitamin B5 which converts the food we have eaten into energy, vitamin B6 which helps to promote brain health and heamoglobin productions, vitamin B12 which prevents anemia, vitamin E which protects the skin and boosts or builds our immune system, contains five (5) grams of healthy fats which reduces the risk of heart disease. It also has colon which helps to rebuild our cells.
Thanks to Lutein – antioxidants which protects the eye and prevents diseases like cataracts, supports cardiovascular health and provides anti-inflammatory benefits. It almost seems that egg is complete and contains every nutrient that the body needs. So what does pepper bring to the table to make it more complete.
Pepper as it may sound, you can’t take away its hot sensation. People may not actually like pepper because of the hot sensation or perhaps their health condition but let’s look at what pepper brings to the table. The chief ingredient in pepper is piperine which has a lot of health benefits.
Pepper contains 169% of Vitamin C which is needed by the body daily as compared to 100% of Orange. It contains vitamin B6 for formation of blood cells, contains vitamin K for healthy bones and blood clotting, contains potassium which is good for the heart muscles, vitamin E which is good for the skin and hair. When you put these together, egg and pepper, they will give you wide range of benefits that the body needs on daily basis.
Pepper comes to the table with vitamin C which Egg seems not to have thus, makes both a perfect combination. Aside providing us with good health, it also serve as an amazing way of making a good income because of its ability to fit in every occasion at every place and at every point in time after school, church, party, in a car, going by foot and everywhere. In this season of covid 19, it is a free advice to take a good look at egg and pepper to boost your immune system.

10 Unknown Benefits From Kissing
Do you ‘kiss’ regularly or it’s been ages since you had your first kiss? Do you kiss for fun or there is a different reason attached? Are you shy when giving a kiss to your aunt, Mother, Father, siblings or even your girlfriend or boyfriend? Or should we go the couple way where couples especially in Africa kiss only when they are getting married?
Kissing is nothing new in the western world compared to Africa where kissing is seen as ‘bad and disgusting’. Gosh, who are you to even kiss in front of thousands of people as the Westerners do! You are a dead man walking in the wonderland already!
We are misled by our beliefs and conceptions but I guess you know the type of kiss you should give to everyone around you and I mean you should not cross your limits! Today, we have made compilation of the unknown benefits of kissing and here’s what science says:
1. It boost your immune system
It was found in 2014 that exchanging kisses improves your immune system as it exposes you to new germs that strengthens your immunity. Through the study, it was also discovered that couples who kiss on a regular basis share the same microbiota in their spits and also on their tongues.
2. Kissing burns calories
It was also disclosed that you can burn 2 to 26 calories in every 60 seconds depending on how passionately one kisses. It is not the fastest or the best way to lose weight it is sometimes more pleasant than training.
3. It triggers your ‘happy hormones’
Kissing gingers your brain and as a result releases chemicals that makes you feel better and good by lighting up your brain with the help of some chemicals including Oxytocin, dopamine and others which makes you euphoric and also lowers stress.
4. It also lowers stress
As I said earlier earlier, kissing is the best way to prevent stress. Other affectionate communications and comments like hugging and saying “I love you,” helps in impacting the physiological processes related to stress management.
5. It helps prevent cavities by increasing saliva production
Swapping of saliva also helps in the simulation of your salivary glands, which helps in adding up the production of saliva. Where the saliva also help in the lubrication of your mouth and eventually help make swallowing easy.
It also aids in the prevention of food particles from sticking in your teeth which can help prevent tooth decay and cavities.
6. It is also good for your heart
According to Andrea Demirjian, the author of the book, “Kissing: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About One of Life’s Sweetest Pleasures”, kissing aids in increasing your heart rate in a way that expands your blood vessels.
And the good thing is, the expansion of your blood vessels increases your blood flow and also decreases your blood pressure which means kissing is good for the heart.
7. It helps relieve headaches
Kissing as I said is good for the blood vessels and can also also relieve headaches. Kissing may also help you prevent headaches by lowering stress, which is a known as headache trigger.
8. Improves total cholesterol
Kissing also helps in the improvement in serum cholesterol which in turn prevents the risk of contracting several diseases including strokes and stroke.
9. Reduce allergic response
Kissing has shown to provide relevant relief from hives and other signs of allergic reaction associated with pollen and household dust mites. Stress also worsens allergic reactions, so kissing effect on stress may also reduce allergic response that way.
10. Kissing reduces nervousness
Lastly, kissing helps you to keep calm. The affection that kissing brings decreases anxiety and increases relaxation and wellness of your mind and body.
In all, kissing does not matter who you kiss as it has a great impact on our emotional and physical well being, so kiss and kiss often. It’s good for your health!

Ghana needs a new national capital – Economist
Habibu Adam, Senior Economist, Office of the Senior Minister on Friday called for a new national capital around the Tamale Airport down through Savannah to Bono East Regions.
He said Accra was currently chocked with serious traffic and sanitation issues; “If care is not taken, in the next 10 years, Accra will need an interchange per kilometer to allow for free movement of vehicles. There will be too much human and motor traffic to an extent that the economic costs to the country would be dire.
“Already Accra has captured Kasoa from Central Region and tension is beginning to brew between Greater Accra and Eastern Region,” Mr Adam told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra.
The Senior Economist explained that the Tamale International Airport (TIA) should be made the main international airport for Ghana for very strategic reasons.
He argued that Tamale was the closest to the rest of the World and cut the journey by one-hour when flights take off from there. “Citizens from neighbouring countries like Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali would find it convenient to pick flights to Ghana and do the rest of the journey by road”.
Mr Adam noted that the government could acquire large acres of land five times the size of Heathrow or Dubai airport at no cost or less cost to government and make it an Aviation Hub of West Africa.
“Government through the private sector can set up the Maintenance, Repairs and Overhaul (MRO) of airplanes as well as the cargo village especially for perishable goods which could reach Europe and the rest of the World faster than when they take off from Kotoka International Airport in Accra,” he explained.
The African Continental Free Trade Centre headquartered in Accra in addition to the Marine Derive project when completed could add close to one million people to the population of Accra in addition to the almost six million people on the overstretched land of Greater Accra,” he said.
Mr Adam noted that: “It is therefore high time we start working towards correcting that monumental mistake. Many countries including; Kazakhstan, Burma, Bolivia, Portugal, Indonesia and on the African continent, we have Nigeria, Burundi, Cote d’ Ivoire and Tanzania have either moved their capital or are in the process of moving their capital”.
He suggested that to cure the problem, each region should be given part of the national agenda to lead. “We can have tourism hub, educational hub, automobile hub, financial hub, petroleum hub among others to be led by the various regions”.
He stressed that making the Tamale International Airport the Hub would provide economic justification for all other airports in the country the government currently wants to build.
“With passengers arriving at the Tamale International Airport, they will be compelled to take flights to the various regions Accra, Kumasi, Ho, Cape Coast, Takoradi and Sunyani. This will boost the domestic aviation industry.”
He said, “these actions should be deliberate policy of government to decongest Accra and move the services sectors to the less endowed regions.”
Mr Adam suggested that the $10 billion Big Push proposed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the GHS100 billion proposed by New Patriotic Party (NPP) to restart the economy should be channelled through building this new capital.
He noted that one of the tragedies of our national development has been the failure of successive governments to carve our development path based on the potential of the various regions.
“Over the years, our major developments have been concentrated in Accra and Kumasi resulting in mass exodus of people from the various regions to Accra and Kumasi bringing in its wake serious economic and social consequences.
“What policymakers should have done was to look at the economic potential of the various regions and direct developments along the same path. Highly potentially industrialised regions should have been developed along the same path,” he said.

EC Explains Why Nana Opoku Agyemang Should not be Worried over duplicated Voters ID
Voters with duplicate ID numbers can still vote in the 2020 general elections, the Electoral Commission has explained.
According to the commission’s Director of Elections, Dr. Siriboe Quaicoe, a person’s voter ID number is not part of the things checked during voting day.
The explanation came in reaction to the 2020 NDC flagbearer, John Mahama, who has slammed the EC for producing an ‘error-ridden’ register.
John Mahama Complained, his running mate Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang found out during the exhibition exercise that her number had been duplicated.
“They said she had to come herself because her number was duplicated, someone else also has the same number,” he said.
“She had to drive from Komenda to Elmina where the district office of the EC is located. At Elmina, they took the old card from her, destroyed it and replaced it with a new card.”
Mr Mahama expressed fears that other voters who have duplicated ID numbers may not be able to go through the process to rectify this error and might be disenfranchised on voting day.
But the EC Director, in an interview on Joy FM, monitored by Dikoder.com, explained John Mahama and the NDC should not be worried.
He said on voting day, the EC official only checks a voter’s name and fingerprints to confirm the voter is qualified to vote.
If the fingerprints fail in identifying a voter, the new facial recognition technology is at hand to confirm the eligibility of the person, he said.
“Voter ID number will not be used on the day of voting,” he stressed.
Dr Quaicoe said the ID numbers are merely system-generated numbers which could be changed without affecting the voter.
He said as far back as 2012, the EC has had duplicated numbers in the voters register without it affecting the voting process.
“It is not something new,” he said.
He explained that in a constituency in the Volta Region, the EC had to change all the ID numbers because several were duplicated.
The EC Director of Electoral Services put the number of duplicated numbers on the new voters’ register at 60,000.

Black Stars: No local Players in Akonnor’s Latest Squad
Black Stars coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor, has snubbed local players in his latest call-up as the national team regroup for Ghana’s upcoming assignments.
Akonnor’s side are preparing for a friendly game against Mali next month before playing their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against the Sudan in November.
Ghana have not played in a competitive game since November 2019, and will play the Eagles of Mali on September 9 in Antalya, Turkey, as part of the team’s preparations for the AFCON qualifier.
The Ghanaians were scheduled to play Equatorial Guinea three days later, but the Central African team have pulled out of the game, citing new travel restrictions imposed in their country. Equatorial Guinea’s borders are closed and flights are suspended due to new COVID-19 rules.
Akonnor has handed debut call-ups to France-based Alexander Djiku of French side Strasbourg, Yakubu Mohammed of Azam FC (Tanzania), Benson Anang of MSK Zilina (Slovakia), Emmanuel Lomotey of Amiens (France) and youngster Kamal Deen who plays for Danish side Nordsjaelland.
Pyramid FC’s John Antwi makes a return to the team on the back of impressive performance in the Egyptian top flight.
Turkey-based Bernard Mensah also makes a return to the team for the first time in five years and will seek to impress Akonnor who is yet to play his first game since he was appointed new Coach of the Black Stars last February this year.
Ghana top Group F of the AFCON qualifiers with six points following victories against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in November 2019.

Contempt case: What happened when Kennedy Agyapong appeared in court today
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has pleaded not guilty to contempt of court.
Mr Agyapong, who allegedly scandalised the court by describing a High Court judge with unprintable words, pleaded not guilty to contempt after he was charged for scandalising the court and bringing its name into disrepute.
With his hands behind his back, and wearing a white top with black trousers and glasses to match, the MP said “not guilty.”
Lawyer’s arguments
The MP took the stand to give his plea after numerous attempts by his legal team for the case to be adjourned, reports Emmanuel Ebo Hawkson, Graphic Online’s court reporter.
Lead counsel for Mr Agyapong, Kwame Gyan, urged the court to halt the case on numerous occasions by giving many reasons to buttress his arguments.
First, he argued that his client had petitioned the Chief Justice over an alleged case of bias on the part of the presiding judge, Justice Amos Wuntah Wuni, and has also filed a judicial review application at the Supreme Court challenging the jurisdiction of the court to hear the case.
Counsel further argued that his client had further filed an application for stay of proceedings pending the determination of the case at the Supreme Court
He, therefore, argued that it would be in the interest of justice for the case to be halted for all the three issues he argued to be resolved first.
Case should continue
Justice Wuni, however, ruled on all the submissions made by counsel and held that nothing prevented the court from proceeding with the matter.
On the issue of the stay of proceedings, he held that the filing of a stay of proceedings did not automatically mean a case should be halted.
This, he said, had been the position of the law as held by the Supreme Court.
With regard to the judicial review application, Justice Wuni held that unless the Supreme Court orders him that he had no jurisdiction, he was not bound by any law to halt the case.
On the issue of the petition to the Chief Justice, he ruled that he had already made his reply to the Chief Justice and therefore unless there is a directive from the Chief Justice, nothing stopped him from going ahead.
“Honourable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong step forward and answer the charge against you,” he held, Graphic Online’s Ebo Hawkson reported.
More attempts
All other attempts by Mr Gyan to have the case adjourned proved futile as the presiding judge insisted that no law prevented him from continuing with proceedings.
Mr Agyapong then took the stand and pleaded not guilty.
The video, which also showed the alleged contemptuous comments made by the MP, was also played in court.
The hearing continues on Monday, September 28, 2020, for the MP to present his defence and subsequently for the court to give its ruling.
