Election 2020: NPP intends to use land guards to intimidate voters – Sam George alleges

Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram constituency Sam Nartey George has accused the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) of plotting to use land guards to create chaos in some constituencies including his own.

According to him, the NPP wants to use all manner of means to snatch his seat but such move, he said will not work.

Sam George said these during the 3FM constituency debate on Friday 20th of November.

He said “there is a gentleman who is recruiting land guards to come in and create chaos on Election Day. He possess himself as the head of security for the NPP candidate.”

“I am a law abiding but what me and my people will not tolerate is anybody using the state and illegal means to subvert the will of the people in Ningo-Prampram,” he said.

The Ningo-Prampram constituency is one of the flash points listed by the Electoral Commission for electoral violence.

The NPP’s parliamentary candidate Alex Martey was not at the event.

He refused to honour the invitation of the organizers who tried their possible best to get him to appear at the event.

I will buy cockerel to do Kokrokoo every morning” – Sam George sends strong message to Peace FM over NDC return

Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Hon Sam George has sent a strong message to Peace FM, an Accra-based radio station, concerning the appeal by the management asking NDC to return to their flagship morning show ‘Kokrokoo’.

This response from the young legislator comes on the back of a recent letter that was signed by Fadda Dickson, the Managing Director of the station, appealing to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to call off their boycott.

It can be recalled that earlier this year, the NDC through its Communication Officer, Mr Sammy Gyamfi, announced the party’s decision never to send a representative to the show over allegations that they are not being treated fairly.

In a tweet, Sammy Gyamafi blatantly stated without equivocation, that the NDC is bigger than Peace FM and will not kowtow to the dictates of the host, Kwami Sefa Kayi, who they describe as politically-biased.

Following that, Sam George in a Facebook post has said a return to the show by the NDC will be an indictment to the party, its followers and what they believe in.

Methinks the Party should stay with the wishes of the base reference Kokrokoo.

If anyone desperately wants the party back on the show, I am willing to buy a cockerel  to do kokrokoo every morning for you.

Mahama will restore Ghanaian participation in banking sector – Sam George

The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has said former President John Dramani Mahama will restore Ghanaian participation in the banking sector in Ghana.

He said it was unfortunate that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration has collapsed local participation in the sector in the name of the cleanup exercise.

His comment comes after the General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu, has asked the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to feel free to copy the content of the manifesto of the governing party ahead of this year’s elections.

Mr Boadu, who was speaking at the unveiling of the 2020 manifesto document of the NPP on Saturday, August 22 in Cape Coast, said the NDC were waiting for the NPP to launch their document to enable them copy the ideas in it for theirs.

He said: “We have launched our manifesto today. They are waiting for us to launch our manifesto so they can copy, they are free to copy.”

He further stated: “This manifesto promises to be an embodiment of progress and prosperity and promises for the Ghanaian people.

But speaking on TV3’S New Day Monday, August 24, the opposition Lawmaker, Sam George, said the NDC will offer a better manifesto document to Ghanaians.

He said “How do you copy a manifesto that is empty? How do you copy a manifesto that does not inspire any hope or any enthusiasm in Ghana? How do you copy a dead document?

He added “Ghanaians are waiting for the NDC’s manifesto where we will speak to the restoring the banking and financial sector jobs.

“Where former President Mahama has said that under his watch we will restore Ghanaian participation in our banking sector”
