Kennedy Agyapong Urges NPP to Acknowledge Economic Hardships in 2024 Campaign

In a candid address at the launch of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Ablekuma South Constituency election campaign, Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, called on the governing party to acknowledge the current economic hardships facing the country as it campaigns ahead of the 2024 General Elections. His remarks emphasized the need for humility and unity within the party to secure victory in the upcoming December 7 polls.

“Let’s go out there with humility, apologise to Ghanaians, and admit your mistakes before you can convince anybody to vote for you. If we ignore the hardships Ghanaians are going through, they will never accept what we are saying,” Agyapong stated. He urged party members to be upfront about the difficulties many Ghanaians are experiencing, suggesting that an honest admission of the country’s economic challenges would be crucial in regaining the trust and support of voters.

Agyapong’s remarks highlight a strategic shift for the NPP as it prepares for the elections. He stressed the importance of showing empathy and understanding towards the electorate, acknowledging that many Ghanaians are facing significant economic challenges. This approach, he believes, is essential for convincing the public to give the NPP another chance to lead the country.

“You first have to admit that there are hardships, let’s give NPP another chance, and I know we have all learnt our lessons,” he continued. Agyapong also underscored the need for collective effort within the party to support their presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in his bid to win the presidency.

“We are all not going to sit back, we will all support Dr. Bawumia [NPP flagbearer] to win,” he asserted, calling for a unified front to ensure a successful campaign.

Kennedy Agyapong’s address at the Ablekuma South Constituency underscores the challenges the NPP faces as it seeks to maintain its hold on power amidst an economically turbulent period. His call for humility and acknowledgment of the electorate’s struggles is a departure from traditional campaign rhetoric, suggesting a more grassroots approach aimed at reconnecting with voters on a personal level.

As the 2024 General Elections approach, the NPP’s strategy, as outlined by Agyapong, may set the tone for their broader campaign efforts. By addressing economic hardships head-on and showing a willingness to learn from past mistakes, the party hopes to resonate with an electorate looking for transparency and genuine concern from their leaders.

Analysts will be watching closely to see if this approach can effectively bridge the gap between the party and the public, potentially setting a new precedent for political campaigns in Ghana. The coming months will be critical in determining whether this strategy can translate into tangible electoral success for the NPP.

Kennedy Agyapong Descends on Sammy Gyamfi

Honorable Kennedy Agyapong has descended on the communications director for the national democratic congress, Sammy Gyamfi for allegedly making certain claims about the Presidency and about government.

Sammy Gyamfi is tagged as one of the sharp mouths of the NDC.

This was a nickname to mean that he is one of the young members of the party but has powerful words which causes fear among the NPP members.

Sammy Gyamfi has been a key player in the current unveiling of corrupt activities which are allegedly going on in government. This alleged activities are corrupt activities by some NPP officials who think after finding themselves in government can do whatever their hearts pleases.

Upon several warnings from some NPP officials concerning the rightful use of certain words, it seems Sammy Gyamfi is not ready to accept change on that path.

The popular defender and respected member of the new patriotic party, Honorable Kennedy Agyapong has sent out very strong words to Sammy Gyamfi as he boldly requests for evidence from him to back all of his recent claims and rants on the media.

And if he fails, he will make sure that Sammy Gyamfi is lawfully interrogated and questioned on which evidences he has and where his sources suggests that these allegations from him are valid or true.

‘We’ll burn all your houses’ – Kennedy Agyapong warns Mahama, others

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central has threatened to burn the houses of former President John Dramani Mahama and some NDC bigwigs, claiming without evidence that the NDC is burning the markets.

On Wednesday, the National Investigations Bureau released Eric Adogla, the driver of Peter Otokunor, an NDC Deputy General Secretary, without charge after arresting and detaining him on Monday.

“Mahama, let me tell you, you stay at Chain Homes, which belongs to Alhaji Seidu Agongo. You cannot go and burn somebody’s fourteen stalls and go scot-free. Mahama, Asiedu Nketia, Akamba, Baba Jamal, you should be careful, else we’ll burn your houses too,” Kennedy Agyapong said on ‘The Dialogue’ show on Net 2 TV, Wednesday, December 23.

He added, “If it continues like that, Mahama we’ll burn your house and if you don’t take care, we’ll burn you the human being. We cannot allow these things to go on in this country.”

Agyapong alleged that the NDC has indicated that, “between now [Wednesday] and Saturday, they said they will be burning the Kumasi market, and burn Cape Coast market. What is going on in this country?”

He warned the former president to simply relocate from his Chain Homes residence else he will gather people to the place and burn his property.

He further warned Lt. Col. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey (Rtd.), a former NDC appointee, to also be on guard else his East Legon property which is just closer to his will be razed down by fire.

Not even the caution from the host of the show could restrain the MP from making more scandalous statements about the leaders of the opposition party.

“If they burn any market again, Mahama Chain Homes is there; do you think you are the [only] ones that can organise? I now dare you [Mahama], Asiedu Nketia, Gbevlo-Lartey, Akamba and Baba Jamal…if we hear any burning in any part of the country, Mahama we’ll burn your house,” he stressed.

Kennedy Agyapong Opens Up On The Sad Truth Akufo Addo Will Face in His Next Government

Finally, Maverick Lawmaker, Kennedy Agyapong has said the truth that President Akufo Addo will go through in his next government.

Moving forward he admitted that it will be a hard time in his second term because his party has a slim majority in Parliament.

The Electoral Commission has given the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 137 seats with the NDC having 136 seats with one seat belonging to an Independent candidate.

The President during his victory speech said the people of Ghana have come to the realization that there is the need for two leading political parties to work together hence the slim margin between the NPP and NDC in the number of seats.

But Kennedy Agyapong who nearly lost his seat to the National Democratic Congress(NDC) parliamentary candidate thinks otherwise.

MyNewsGH reported that according to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, “the President will suffer in his second term as President because previously, the NPP had majority of the seats and we could vote for all bills to go through. Look at the number of bills we passed in Parliament? It was because we had majority”.

He noted that most of the party’s Municipal Chief Executives played contributory roles in ensuring that the NPP loses its seats because they openly paid monies and supported NDC candidates against candidates presented by the NPP.

Kennedy Agyapong indicated that a list of such people will be sent to the President so that they are taken out of his government.

Following the resignation of Martin Amidu from the Office of the special prosecutor, Honourable Kennedy Agyapong who was featured live on Adom FM’s evening program which takes place every Tuesday, made some claims and statements concerning Martin Amidu’s resignation letter.

He read out loud on the program a copy of the resignation letter which seemed to hold the reasons why Martin Amidu supposedly resigned from office. In the event of reading, he asked a very straight question which was directed to Martin; ” Why have you kept GH¢ 6.49million in your account since last year?”. Commenting on this question, he explained that the money was meant to be used by Martin Amidu to recruit 290 Ghanaian nationals and train them but instead he recruited only two individuals on a contract basis.

Following the statement, he also made it clear that he doesn’t trust the reasons Martin Amidu gave in respect to his resignation. “I didn’t understand at first but now I believe they are all lies”; he said.

Reading on from the copy he had in hand, he came across a passage which had to do with Martin Amidu failing to receive some keys from Kernel Oduro.

” Martin calls Kernel Oduro a messenger which shows no respect. You can never be much a greater person than Kernel Oduro. You are insolent, and because you are insolent, you could only recruit 2 individuals”. Following this statements, he ended by saying Martin Amidu is the problem if he keeps resigning from his positions in a corporate organization. He gave an example as to him resigning from the Office of the Attorney General and now resigning from the office of the special prosecutor.

Even though he (Trump) has refused to accept the results, citing fraud, Joe Biden is set to be sworn in as the 46th President of the USA.

Speaking to this on Kumasi-based Hello FM, Kennedy Agyapong said he was praying for Trump to lose because he “has reduced America to the lowest level in the world”

  • Kennedy Agyapong alleges NDC and Fulanis have planned highway robberies ahead of December 7.

Kennedy Agyapong alleges NDC and Fulanis have planned highway robberies ahead of December 7.

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central has alleged that the opposition NDC is behind the recent highway robberies.

He claimed to have intercepted NDC documents that suggest the NDC will sponsor robberies to create tension, put fear in the people, attack the people of Ghana unnecessarily, beat the people of Ghana and organise demonstrations before, during and after the December 7 elections.

“A hardcore Fulani rebel called Jallo Nagyinam has been hired to attack and rob only on highways and to frustrate people on the road to push the lawlessness agenda so there will be frequent highway problems to create fear and panic on the roads,” Kennedy Agyepong purported to read from the alleged document when he spoke on Net 2 TV Monday evening. He did not give a copy to the host to read nor was the document shown on the screens.

He further alleged that a Fulani suspect accused of the murder of Ekow Quansah Hayford, the immediate past Mfantseman MP, had the cell phone of the murdered MP when he was arrested.

“When [the suspect was] asked where he got the phone from, [the suspect] said, he bought the phone from someone who is also a Fulani. A robbery that has occurred on Walewale Highway was orchestrated by the Fulani [people]…,” Agyapong alleged.

He urged his incumbent NPP to take him seriously because all the intelligence he is getting shows that “NDC is operating it ditto ditto and NPP are practising a democracy that Jesus and his disciples didn’t practice”.
He explained that under the current NPP administration, some NPP members in the Asunafo South constituency have been shot at and nothing has been done to the culprits.

“When we were in opposition, we were beaten, in government too we are being beaten…how can we get party members to be vigilant at the polling stations during election day?” he wondered. “No action has been taken and they are still in the constituency roaming around with impunity.”

Kennedy Agyapong observed that he had been propagating on his TV network the alleged plans of the NDC since April and whatever he has said is unfolding.

“The worst is yet to come in November… what kind of democracy are we practising, no arrest, nothing. If it was Kennedy Agyapong, you will get party members saying he should be arrested because they claim I want to be president…because it is not their children the party leadership and government do not care…” furious Kennedy Agyapong stated.

He warned that the NPP should forget about winning the elections if the members of the party are not assured of their safety and security.
“How can we be in power and be intimidated by a party in opposition?” he blurted out.

“They told us in 2008 that there [was] a breakdown in security and still you are relying on security, wow! You people don’t learn…NPP we don’t learn. They [NDC] control the security every minute,” the frustrated Kennedy Agyapong alleged.

High Court Drags Kennedy Agyapong to Court

High Court Judge, Sulemana Issifu has dragged Member of Parliament(MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong before the Chief Justice for threatening to deal with him (the Judge) for issuing an interlocutory injunction against him in land dispute case.

According to the Judge, it’s imperative that the lawmaker be made to face the law because “his outburst puts the sitting judge’s life in harm’s way because revulsion towards the judge may have occasioned amongst his teeming supporters”.

He further indicted that “if this matter is not addressed, I am afraid it may spur on political actors to use their influence to cower the judiciary into submission and insulate politicians from the law. This would engender hate and weaken the standing of the judiciary and cast it as a ‘white elephant’ in the eyes of many ordinary Ghanaians. Further, it would mean that ordinary people cannot seek justice from the courts against persons of Mr Agyepong’s stature and breed a culture of lawlessness amongst the populace”.

To him, “Mr Agyepong would have been fully aware of the laid down legal remedies available to him, as same may have been communicated to him by his counsel, but opted to use his influence to sway the public to his direction and to ingrain in the minds of his teeming supporters, his authority over the courts. It is my respectful view, and I hold same to be true per the contents of the video, that, he set out to desecrate the courts in a contemptuously bizarre fashion”.

He called on the Chief Justice to proffer “a strong action against Mr Agyepong is necessary to establish the independence and authority of the courts and to deter persons in future from acting in an analogous manner. Such an action will instill in the people, confidence in – and the requisite support for – the judiciary”.

Kennedy Agyapong is on record to have said that “You are a stupid judge. I will face you”.

THE CHIEF JUSTICE, REPUBLIC OF GHANA
    ACCRA

    7TH SEPTEMBER 2020

Dear Your Lordship, Justice Anim Yeboah,

PETITION: TAKE ACTION AGAINST KENNEDY AGYEPONG, HONOURABLE MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT, ASSIN CENTRAL FOR HIS THREATS AGAINST THE JUDICIARY

Your Lordship, please have my highest regard and I hope this petition finds you well.
I wish to draw your attention to two issues that are of supreme national interest and may have grave consequences for our dear Republic if not expeditiously addressed. I do so, on account of the constitutional imperative that obliges all citizens to at all times safeguard the constitution of Ghana and by extension, the creatures of the constitution including the judiciary, which you are head of. As the head of this important state institution, it is my contention, that, due to the severity of the issues at hand, it should be brought to your attention for action. My trepidation is premised on the unfortunate historical antecedent, which your good self may be much familiar with than me, where judges were murdered in cold blood while exercising their duties. Thereafter, other incidences including the storming and ransacking of Kumasi High Court by thugs, ‘Montie 3’, etc have occurred and I offer to assist to stop this monumental impunity against the courts.

    First issue
I have seen a video and authenticated same to be original, in which, the honourable member of parliament for Assin Central, Mr Kennedy Agyepong, amidst unsavoury comments (which out of respect for Your Lordship, I am unable to repeat but are contained in the attached video and transcripts) about a sitting judge and the entire judiciary, threatens to deal ruthlessly with a judge whom, Mr Agyepong claims, had issued an interlocutory injunction against him in land dispute case (Emmanuel Mompi, Iris Mompi, Mr Eric Afotey Odai versus Hon. Knennedy Ohene Agyapong with case reference number LD/1028/20). The unfortunate and highly dangerous actions of Mr Agyepong happened on his Net 2 TV while appearing on a show dubbed “The Seat” hosted by one, Kweku Annan. I have attached a copy of the video and transcripts of his comments to this petition for your perusal.

First, his outburst puts the sitting judge’s life in harm’s way because revulsion towards the judge may have occasioned amongst the teeming supporters of Mr Agyepong. I therefore beforehand, request you respectfully, to take immediate steps to secure the life of the judge. Your Lordship, if this matter is not addressed, I am afraid it may spur on political actors to use their influence to cower the judiciary into submission and insulate politicians from the law. This would engender hate and weaken the standing of the judiciary and cast it as a ‘white elephant’ in the eyes of many ordinary Ghanaians. Further, it would mean that ordinary people cannot seek justice from the courts against persons of Mr Agyepong’s stature and breed a culture of lawlessness amongst the populace.

An important point for your attention, Your Lordship, is that, looking at Mr Agyepong’s standing in our society as a legislator and an influential political actors, he ought to have known available remedies to him should he feel dissatisfied by a court’s ruling. Indeed I hold that, Mr Agyepong would have been fully aware of the laid down legal remedies available to him, as same may have been communicated to him by his counsel, but opted to use his influence to sway the public to his direction and to ingrain in the minds of his teeming supporters, his authority over the courts. It is my respectful view, and I hold same to be true per the contents of the video, that, he set out to desecrate the courts in a contemptuously bizarre fashion.

I further hold, Your Lordship, that, Mr Agyepong’s conduct is graver in scope and impact than the infamous ‘Montie 3’. This is because of the influence he wields and the coverage of the channel on which he made these dangerous comments compared to the ‘Montie 3’ in these respects. A strong action against Mr Agyepong is necessary to establish the independence and authority of the courts and to deter persons in the future from acting in an analogous manner. Such action will instill in the people, confidence in – and the requisite support for – the judiciary .

    Second issue
Your Lordship, in another video of Mr Agyepong which was shot on the same “The Seat” show, he, together with the host, created an impression and indeed communicated succinctly to the public that, you, Justice Annin Yeboah, the Chief Justice of the Republic, had restored the ‘licenses’ and ‘certificates’ of all judges who were busted in the judicial scandal produced by, investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Respectfully, I seek the following information as part of my right to information under the constitution and RTI Act of parliament, and request same to be communicated to me in writing –

    1. 1. Is it true that justices who were busted and dismissed have been reinstated, and their ‘certificates/licenses’ restored if at all those licenses were revoked?
    2. 2. If so, when did this happen and what processes were used for the restoration/reinstatement?
    3. 3. If false, why has not your respected office issued any statement debunking these serious allegations or disinformation so to speak? I have attached a copy of the said video and transcripts for your perusal.
Please, be rest assured, that, though I am currently not in the Ghanaian jurisdiction, should your office require of me to assist in unpacking the issues raised herein, I shall avail myself to assist if given enough notice time. Kindly use the correspondence provided in the address section in case of reply.

Accept my best wishes. Thank you.

    Yours sincerely,
    Sulemana Issifu

Mahama Inflated Cost Of Kasoa Interchange to Buy 350 Cars For Chiefs’ – Ken Agyapong Blows Hot Again

Firebeand of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agypong has returned once again to throw his trademark brash persona in our face by alleging that former President John Dramani Mahama inflated the cost the Kasoa Interchange for personal gains.

According to the controversial Ghanaian lawmaker, the leader of the opposition National Democratic Congress used the money to buy 350 land cruisers to bribe some Chiefs in Ghana ahead of the last elections in Ghana.

“They used the extra money from the inflated contract sum to buy 350 land cruisers and shared it amongst the Chiefs to deceive them for votes. We don’t need people like that who only think about what they will eat and not the destiny of future unborn generations,” he alleged on Kingdom FM.

Continuing, he said: “The Kasoa interchange alone built by the NDC cost us $270M but the auxiliary roads and hospitals they much talked about didn’t happen as promised. One of the contractors revealed to me that he was tasked by the NDC to inflate the cost of the Kasoa interchange over $40M.”

Kennedy Agyapong Attacks Ft. J. J Rawlings

Maverick politician and Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has said former President Jerry Rawlings should be blamed for the dominance of foreign businesses in the country.

The business mogul accused the former president of collapsing many indigenous businesses during his administration and consequently killing the entrepreneurial skills of Ghanaians.

“I blame Rawlings for it, he brought all these problems. He killed the entrepreneurial skills of Ghanaians,” he asserted on Accra-based NET 2 TV.

According to him, in one of the June 4 celebrations, the former President declared that Ghanaians should not patronise the products of a Ghanaian-owned company.
