Electoral Commission in the Ahafo region, Madam Martha Osei Agyemang Is Dead

Barely a week to the December 2020 polls, the Asunafo North Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission (EC) in the Ahafo region, Martha Osei Agyemang has died creating a vacuum.

The 36-year-old who died at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital where she was on admission receiving treatment according to sources available to MyNewsgh left behind a child

Reports suggest Madam Martha complained she was unwell due to stress at her workplace in view of the workload at her office following the impending polls.

She, however, decided to see her personal doctor at Wenchi in Bono Region for which she left Goaso on Wednesday.

It was gathered that she was getting well and had planned her return to work until news broke out this weekend if her demise.

According to Ahafo Regional Director of the Electoral Commission John Appiah Baffoe who confirmed her death on a local radio station, Madam Martha was committed to her duty.

The body of the deceased has been conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

Date for the Burial of Rawlings has been Announced.

The date for the final funeral rites of the late Jerry John Rawlings has been announced by the family in conjunction with the state.

The burial service will be held at the Independence Square on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

A statement from the family signed Ambassador James Victor Gbeho who is the Head of Funeral Planning Committee says: The family is working in conjunction with the Government on the finer details of the funeral ceremony and will communicate the arrangements in due course.

The former president died on Thursday, November 12 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after a short illness. He was 73.

The family of His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings has in consultation with the Government, agreed that the date for the State funeral of the former President is confirmed for Wednesday, 23rd December 2020 at the Independence Square in Accra.

The family is working in conjunction with the Government on the finer details of the funeral ceremony and will communicate the arrangements in due course.

Individuals and institutions who wish to contribute tributes to the memory of Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings are reminded to email such tributes to tributes@jjrawlingsmemorial.org.

Mysterious: I can turn Into a Fish When in the Sea- Nyevile Reveals

A Ghanaian woman has narrated her connection to the spiritual underworld and her exploits there at night.

Speaking to Arnold Elavanyo on his Vibes in 5 show, the lady who identified herself as Nyevile aka Born Star, a budding musician said her connection to the spiritual realms started even before her mother conceived her.

She revealed that her mother had trouble conceiving but a prophetess helped her to take a seed, but with a caveat, that the baby when born, must be dedicated to the sea or she will die.

She claims as a baby, her parents heeded to the words of the prophetess and sent her to the sea, dedicated her and left the infant Nyevile in the sea for 4 days.

During those days, she continued, she was taken to the spiritual underworld to meet her other family and acquaint herself with the activities of the new world.

She says after the 4 days, the prophetess and her mum returned to the sea to pray and she was returned to them.

Ever since then, she revealed, she has been communicating with and visiting the sea world.

She claims she can turn into fish at night therefore one of her most stringent rules is that no one switches on the light when she’s sleeping or risk seeing something spiritual or getting harmed.

Alleged Wizard ‘Crash Lands’ On Roof Top After He Ran Out Of ‘Fuel’ In Delta (VIDEO)

On Saturday, 28th November, a young man identified as Omamuyovwi who was alleged to be a wizard ‘crash landed’ on the top of a roof at Okpokpor Street in Okpara-Inland in Ethiope-East LGA.
According to reports, he confessed that he was out of ‘fuel’ and landed on the rooftop after a deity (igberhe juju) had chased him from the meeting place. He also admitted to being a wizard who has been involved in a lot of atrocities in the neighborhood.

Omamuyovwi, who was seen clutching a hundred naira note in his hands was rescued by the community vigilante after the resident flogged him with plantain leaves and was about to set him ablaze.

Mfantseman MP to be laid to rest
The late Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mfantseman Constituency, Ekow Kwansah Hayford, will be laid to rest today, November 28 at Mankessim in the Central Region.

The MP was murdered on Friday, October 9, while returning from a campaign trip.

Ekow Quansah Hayford was shot on the Abeadze Dominase – Abeadze Duadzi – Mankessim Road at about 1:00 am by some six armed highway robbers.

According to the programme outline released by the family, a night of hymns and tributes will be held in honour of the late MP at the Ebenezer Methodist Church, Mankessim on Friday, November 27, 2020.

After that, the body will be laid in state at the Kessim AstroTurf park before being conveyed to the Mankessim cemetery for interment.

On Sunday, November 29, 2020, a thanksgiving service will be organised at the Ebenezer Methodist Church, Mankessim to climax the funeral.

The family also announce that President Akufo-Addo, attend the final funeral rite of the former Mfantseman MP, Ekow Hayford.

GCB Bank Liberty House branch at Kantamanto on fire

Fire on Saturday gutted the GCB Bank, Liberty House branch at Kantamanto in Accra.
The cause of the fire, which started on the first floor of the seven-storey building is unknown.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire started around 8 am Saturday morning.

As of midday, there were about six fire tenders at the scene and fire service personnel were trying to keep the fire from spreading.

Personnel from the Ghana Fire Service are currently trying to douse a fire that has swept through the GCB Bank tower at Kantamanto in Accra.

In a video fast circulating on social media, smoke can be seen coming out of the storey-building.

Although the cause of the fire remains unknown, a crowd has gathered at the scene as security personnel and the fire service try to bring the situation under control.

The Police barricaded the road leading to the area.

20/21 Ghana Premier League matchday 3: Clubs to observe a minute silence to honour Maradona

Premier League clubs are being directed to observe a minute of silence to honour football legend Diego Armando Maradona who passed on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. This is a directive from world football governing body, FIFA.

Diego Maradona, who has died aged 60, succumbed to heart failure. Regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the game, Maradona became a household name after inspiring his country to World Cup glory.

On 25 November, football lost one of its greatest icons, Diego Armando Maradona. Across the world, there is a sense of profound loss at the untimely passing of a true legends of the game. It is not an overstatement to say that football will not be the same without him. We will be forever thankful for the contribution he made to our sport and we will miss him dearly.

‘‘In honour of Diego Armando Maradona and in solidarity with his family, and everyone who loved him so much, the flags at FIFA headquarters are being flown at half mast, and FIFA calls upon all competition managers to hold a minute of silence at every football match this coming weekend or at the next possible occasion’’ a FIFA statement read.

The directive means a minute of silence shall be observed this weekend across Premier League centres.

Asamoah Gyan elated after making Ghana Premier League return after 17 years

After marking his debut for Legon Cities FC in the Ghana Premier League in a goalless drawn game against Medeama SC, Asamoah Gyan has expressed his delight.

The leading top scorer of the Black Stars last played in the Ghanaian top-flight league in 2003 where he earned a move from Liberty Professionals to Udinese.

Now back in his home country, Asamoah Gyan has been signed by Legon Cities FC for the 2020/2021 football season.

On Friday evening, he climbed off the bench to feature for the side in a clash against Medeama SC that ended in a stalemate.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Gyan says it feels great to be back playing in the Ghana Premier League.

“I am very much excited to be back home. This is where the name, Asamoah Gyan started and it feels great to play in the league again after 17-years,” the 35-year old shared.

He continued, “I am very much satisfied with the game tonight. It’s a positive one. We need to approach the next game with this same mentality and I believe soon the wins will come.”

Ghana winger Edwin Gyasi trained with his Samsunpor teammates at the Nuri Asan Facilities ahead of their TFF League 1 tie against Tuzlaspor in Turkey.

The Red and White will host Tuzlaspor at the Canik 19 May Stadium.

Gyasi and his teammates will be hoping to record their first win after the international break.

Samsunspor were held by Giresunsporto a 0-0 game which the 28-year-old hugely impressed.

I regrets leaving AC Milan – ‘Journeyman’ Kevin Prince-Boateng admits

Ghana forward, Kevin Prince Boateng has revealed that he regrets leaving Serie A giants, AC Milan.

The 33-year-old joined Milan from Genoa on a four-year deal in 2011.

Boateng became an instant hit at the club scoring a hattrick on his debut against Lecce.

However, due to racism-related issues, the former Borussia Dortmund returned to Germany to play for Schalke 04.

“The teammates with whom I found myself best? The best moments of my career concern Milan, we won cups and we all became friends,” he told DAZN.

“Looking back I was wrong to leave, Galliani is still angry (laughs),” he added.

His hat-trick against Lecce was the fastest in Serie A since David Trezeguet scored a ten-minute hat-trick for Juventus in 2001.

However, in December 2015 Boateng re-joined Milan on 5 January 2016 on a free transfer and signed a six-month contract.

Boateng made a total of 115 appearances for the club scoring 19 goals.

The 2010 and 2014 World Cup star currently plays for Serie B side, AC Monza.

AC Monza forward, Kevin Prince Boateng has said he is helping his teammates to develop with the help of his experience.

Boateng, 33, joined the Serie B side this summer following his returning to Fiorentina after spending the 2019/20 football season at Besiktas in Turkey.

According to him, having experienced players in the locker room always players to develop and he is using his experience to help his teammates.

“At Monza I have respect for my teammates, they respect me,” he told DAZN.

“I bring experience, certainly many guys tell me that they feel like seeing me in the dressing room: but this helps them to grow, having champions in the dressing room helped me too when I was a boy.

“Brocchi has his own idea of football, he gives me ideas to help others too.

“Then well, at 33 I’m capable of playing football, at this age, it’s all a matter of mind: I believe 100% in my body and my mind,” he added.

Boateng gas featured four times for the club scoring twice.

The Ghana forward has played for 14 clubs across Europe.
