Prophet Nigel Gaisie, founder and leader of the Prophetic Hill Chapel, has become the latest person in police custody over the Mzbel-Stacy Amoateng issue.

Nigel Gaisie made an appearance at Police Headquarters today to give his version of the story.

Mzbel was arrested on Tuesday to answer for her claim that Prophet Nigel Gaisie had told her that Stacy Amoateng, Ghanaian tv host, is positive with HIV.

Mzbel made the claim during a live video attacking Nigel Gaisie at the height of her beef with Tracey Boakye.

  • Fame In Ghana Is Useless, It Doesn’t Bring Any Money – Efia Odo

Fame In Ghana Is Useless, It Doesn’t Bring Any Money – Efia Odo

Actress Efia Odo says the system in Ghana is f*cked up and it’s too hard to make money in the country.

Odo, in a couple of posts on Twitter, said Ghanaian entertainers are generally broke and the youth in the country has no future.

Odo complained that a fast-food worker in the U.S makes more money than most Ghanaian celebrities and that majority of the celebrities in the country are famous for nothing whilst being broke.

Somebody working in McDonalds in America makes more money than most of us celebs in Ghana. Ghana fame brings no money! All this fame and Artists are struggling. The people in position all need to be fired and new age minded people need to be hired. We need a reset button!” she said.

Odo added that the young people in the country even have it worse and there’s no way to make money without resorting to fraud.

“There’s no future for us, on God. How much do teachers, bankers, doctors make in Ghana?? It’s either you come from a good home or you’re doing fraud. Our structure in every aspect is horrible!” she added.

This state of affairs is what has forced many celebrities, especially the female ones, to open up a side business alongside their careers – selling their body for cash.

A fair number of them including Tracey Boakye and Moesha Boduong have openly admitted to this. Many of the others do it in secret but would deny it till their dying breath.

According to Blank Rasta in an interview on Zylofon FM, there is already an airport at Takoradi which is very close to Cape Coast so it will be a waste of money and resources to construct another one.

Cardi B Shares A Nude Photo Of US First Lady Melania Trump Following A Shade From Journalist

American rapper Cardi B has shared a naked photo of US First Lady Melania Trump following comparison by a journalist.

A political correspondent shared a thought on Twitter where she said America needs women like Melania Trump and not the likes of Cardi B.

This comparison comes in a way to address the somewhat irresponsible disposition of Cardi B on social media which the First Lady is the complete opposite.

However, there are records of Melania Trump as a stripper and model before she got married to Donald Trump and had to ditch all her former life to be in tandem with her role as the first lady of the United States of America.

This is why Cardi B believes the comparison from the journalist is unacceptable especially when Melania has done dirtier and messier pieces of stuff than she is doing.

  • Double-track system is a leapfrogging concept – Adutwum

Double-track system is a leapfrogging concept – Adutwum

Ghana’s double-track system being implemented at the senior high schools is a “leapfrogging” concept, Deputy Minister of Information Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has said.

It was introduced by the government to absorb the spike in enrolment following the implementation of the free SHS programme in 2017.

So far, 1.2 million students, according to the government, have benefitted from the free SHS programme.

Though the stopgap double-track system has been widely criticised by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) with its flagbearer, former President John Mahama, indicating that he will scrap that aspect of the free SHS policy should he win the 2020 polls, Dr Adutwum told Kwabena Prah Jr on Accra100.5FM’s morning show, Ghana Yensom, that the double-track system “is a leapfrogging concept, so, instead of taking 50 years to put up school infrastructure to accommodate the influx of students, we’re using that to circumnavigate the infrastructure hurdles”.

“We can’t wait for 126 years” before doing so, he noted.

According to him, “if our generation wants to transform this country, we need to rush but with a mindset of not forgetting about quality”.

“So, you don’t just rush but look for leapfrogging strategies”, he added.

Dr Adutwum said the government is adopting innovative strategies to ensure that Ghana catches up with the rest of the world as far as human resource and development are concerned.

“We’re in a hurry because time has run out on you”, he said.

“Ghana’s peers, in terms of nationhood and independence, are now into manufacturing aeroplanes and other things but the painful thing is that they are not any smarter than us except that they have the mindset that everything is possible”, he pointed out.

The deputy minister also said the government intends incorporating virtual laboratories into the education system, so, as to expose students to a whole raft of things in the science realm which they cannot have physical access to at the moment due to financial constraints.

  • Ghanaians have failed to hold President Akufo-Addo accountable – Mahama’s Aide

Ghanaians have failed to hold President Akufo-Addo accountable – Mahama’s Aide

An Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, says President Akufo-Addo has found confidence to contest for the presidency again because Ghanaians, especially the media, have not held him accountable for his stewardship so far.

According to him, the performance of the Akufo-Addo government has been so abysmal within the 4 years in office than any administration in spite of receiving so much financial resources than any other government.

“If we all decide to hold this government to the fire of accountability, Nana Akufo-Addo will not get the confidence to say that he will stand again for election,” he asserted on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ Morning Show.

He maintained that President Akufo-Addo has nothing to show for all the borrowed monies and the financial resources at his disposal; claiming that the government of Akufo-Addo has performed abysmally compared to other governments in the history of the country.

“I have never seen a government that has been so abysmal in its performance within 4 years than this administration with so much financial resources; over 300 billion Cedis financial resources at this government’s disposal and if you deduct the 6 billion spent on Free SHS from it, what has happened to the remaining money?”

He said the Akufo-Addo government alone has received about 315 billion Cedis and then Mills and Mahama administration both received financial resources of about 248 billion Cedis.

Aside the abysmal performance, Mr. Edudzi Tamakloe again said the 120 Ministers and deputies have crippled the economy as their monthly salaries are exorbitant compared to the previous administrations.

“Only your government has 120 ministers and deputies and do you know how much a minister is paid for a month? If they say leadership for service, it should have been leadership for family and friends,” he said.

To him, President Akufo-Addo has not been able to keep his campaign promise of not forming a family and friends government.

“One of the campaign promises of Nana Akufo-Addo was that if Ghanaians vote for him, he will not form a family and friends government. Is Nana Addo still standing by that campaign promise?” he quizzed.

  • Over 50 arrested for attacking two soldiers at Dome Faase

Over 50 arrested for attacking two soldiers at Dome Faase

More than 50 persons have been arrested after two military officers were attacked at Dome Faase near Accra.

A military contingent was deployed to the town to restore calm forcing residents to flee to avoid arrest.

The uniformed men reportedly clashed with rampaging residents on Tuesday, while protecting a parcel of land owned by a sub-chief of Akyem Apedwa.

Images widely shared online capture the two soldiers bleeding profusely as they are being surrounded by the mob granting interviews to reporters at the scene.

One of them who identified himself as Clement Asare-Addo said warning shots had been fired with the hope of dispersing the agitated residents. However, this backfired.

“Our work is that we give a warning shot and when they stop then their leader and our leader will sit down and talk. But this one, it didn’t happen like that. They came to us and attacked us saying that we came here voluntarily,” he said.

According to the army officer, the residents accused them of not having been officially assigned to that post.

He added that even after explaining to the leader of the group that they were not criminals, the group simply would not listen to reason and proceeded to beat him and his colleague up.

“Their leader came there and we informed him that we are not criminals. So if there is anything else, they should exercise patience and lead us to your chief or wherever then we continue,” he pleaded.

Clement said their pleas and cries of innocence fell on deaf ears as the residents continued to beat them.

The residents had been demonstrating over the ownership of the land when the incident occurred.

They had earlier claimed that there have been rumours of armed land guards working with military personnel to terrorize their communities.

“Three weeks ago we heard rumours of activities on Ga lands that fall precisely under the Domeabra Obong constituency. Further investigations revealed that the presence of a team of armed land guards was working with some military personnel terrorizing the communities, claiming the Akyem stool sent them,” a spokesman for the residents told reporters.

  • GNECC condemns politicization of free meals for final year JHS students

GNECC condemns politicization of free meals for final year JHS students

Civil Society Organizations forming the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition have described as condemnable, politicizing hot meals served final year Junior High School students.

It follows disturbing social media visuals of a teacher asking students to repeat the 4 more for nana slogan or forfeit their free meals. Some pictures in circulation also show food packs with the picture of the president Nana Akufo-Addo embossed on them.

The coalition insists politicizing such national policies is inimical to the objectives of the intervention.

The intervention was meant to be nothing beyond providing meals for 584 thousand final year students and their staff in the Junior High Schools.

The objective according to President Nana Akufo Addo was to ensure that students do not breach COVID 19 protocols as they move outside in droves to buy lunch.

The intervention which was lauded by Education Watchers and Teacher Unions, however, appears to have caught the election year fever with disturbing videos going viral on social media.

A staff of a school took to social media showing visuals of how students were to repeat the 4 more for Nana mantra as the price of getting a meal.

Other posts depict some food packs embossed with the pictures of the president Nana Akufo Addo.

William Owusu Gyebi, Chairman of the Coalition of NGOs in health and an executive member of the GNECC said though the Ashanti Region has not witnessed same in the region, the development needs to be investigated and condemned.

The coalition has been touring over a hundred and fifty schools; monitoring adherence to COVID-19 interventions as well as infection prevention and control measures.

It points out that though commendable; the timing for the distribution of the hot meals to the students defeats the purpose as students go out to have lunch before the meals arrive.

The GNECC is yet to publish rather uncomplimentary findings on how Ghana failed to properly institute school reopening measures contrary to government’s assertion that students were safe in schools.
