Alhaji Karim Gruzah, owner of division one side, KingFaisal FC, has rescinded his decision to contest for the Ghana Football Association ( GFA) presidential position.
According to the astute football administrator, upon further consultation with his family and other personalities in the football industry he will not contest for the GFA topmost position, but he, however, indicated that he has an eye on being an executive council member.
” My children have been following the GFA race since I declared my intention to contest, they with other personalities have spoken to me not to contest and I have accepted their advice, ” he told Accra based Asempa FM today. He continued. “Isha Allah my eyes are now set on the executive committee where I think I will help in the decision-making process.
Even with that, if I get the slot or otherwise, I will still thank God. I am not the only person who can turn the fortunes of the association.” Alhaji Gruzah further indicated that he has not declared his support for any of the aspiring candidates yet, but will do so after they have been vetted.
” For now I am not rushing to declare who I will support, those aspirants are all my sons and nephews. I will only declare my support for one of them after the vetting processes are over,” he explained. Alhaji Gruzah who has over 40 years of experience in the activities of Ghana Football underscored the need for the association to have a visionary leader to lift the image of the association from its current state to an appreciable one.
