The Concerned Cocoa Farmers Association at Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region have expressed their worried about how the Ghana Cocoa Board(COCOBOD) and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) has started the implementation of the Cocoa Farmers Pension Scheme in the country.
According to the Farmers, the government has started the implementation by piloting a selected Cocoa Farmers in particular places meanwhile, the policy is for cocoa farmers in Ghana.
We want to know from the government whether the policy is for a selected Cocoa Farmers or all the Cocoa Farmers in the country, they questioned.
Addressing the press by Mr. Joseph Anane who is the Chairman of the group at Mankranso after their 3rd quarter meeting, he said, they know that, all the Cocoa Farmers in the country will benefit from the policy like the National Health insurance Scheme (NHIS) Policy and the Free Senior High School Policy.
He therefore appealing to the government to stop discrimination about this policy because they are all cocoa farmers in the country.
