National Disinfection Exercise Should be Maintain After Coronavirus–Chairman Abronye.

The Bono Region Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Kwame Baffoe Abronye DC has called on government to make conscious efforts to periodically undertake the ongoing disinfection exercise as part of measures to sanitise our communities.

According to him, the exercise has been helpful and fruitful therefore government should not abandon the National disinfection exercise after the outbreak of Coronavirus to keep the environment clean and safe.

He disclosed this when the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development together with Zoomlion Gh Ltd embarked on disinfection exercise in the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions as part of government efforts to contain the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.

Joining the entourage were the Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party Mr Kofi Boateng, representatives of the B/A House of Chiefs, Authorities of Zoomlion Gh Ltd among others.

In all 43 markets in Ahafo, 78 in Bono East and 125 in the Bono Region and the principal Streets across the regions were disinfected.

Chairman Abronye urged government to prioritise funding for the improvement of sanitation and waste management, there should also be adequate education on the need for good sanitation and waste management “he added.”

He admonished the Ghanaians to make it their responsibility to clean the environment frequently, rather than waiting for government’s intervention in order to prevent diseases associated with filth.

The Bono Regional Minister Mrs Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson on her part said the exercise has received a major boasts from all stakeholders across the region, and commended the people in the region for strictly adhering to the directives from government.

She said the outbreak is a national canker which demands rapid response from all Ghanaians irrespective of one’s political affiliation, ethnicity or social class.
