An aide to Hon. Dr. Clement Apaak and a Communicator Team Member of the NDC Samson Samari Eliasu disclosed that, the forum on galamsey organized by the ministry of lands and natural resources on galamsey related activities was just a complete waste of state resources and patrons time.

    galamsey

Samson went on emphasising that, what difference will the dialogue make after the same president kept his presidency on the line to fight galamsey and eventually failed and tried to defend his failure.

“I attended a similar roundtable discussion on Monday, 11th February 2019 . The discussion was organized by the Institute of Economic Affairs, on the theme: “The Galamsey menace in Ghana, the way forward”. It was attended by high profile government officials of president Nana Addo’s government. They spoke their usual grammar and that ended it” Samson Narrated.

    A Complete Waste Of Resource

According to Samson, the Nana Addo’s government is not ready to admit their lackadaisical attitude and their complete failure towards the fight of the galamsey menace. There have been instances where secret recordings of government officials were leaked on their quest to make money for their party.

“The president speech was just a direct indication of his unpreparedness to punish his appointees who are directly or indirectly involved in the galamsey activities” he said.

However, To Samson, the Government should have used the forum to apologise to Ghanaians for its failure. Some government officials should have been answering questions from the general public about the whereabouts of the seized excavators, the dissolution of the inter ministerial taxforce, the military protection of some alleged galamsayers , the depotation of the Chinese galamsey queen, Aisha Yuang.

    A Complete Waste Of Resource

He futher said that, until we are ready to name, shame and jail, president Nana Addo will continue to shield his appointees. What evidence does he need again after seized excavators vanished into thin air?

Take action against appointees involved and not forums.

“I remain a citizen and not a spectator” he concluded.

    LEADERSHIP

The Branch communicator and Junior Comrade of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says that upon his research there has been surge in advocacy campaign activities for potential party executives at all levels, especially at National and Regional levels; which if care not taken will stagnate the reorganisational schedule the party will be undertaking.

According to him, many supporters daily are projecting their choices and in some cases hitting heads against one another, and also, denigrating their potential contenders on most political platforms, and most dangerously in the silence . This is already raising tensions since the current executives seeing one another as opponents than co-executives who are to plan and reorganize the party for formidable front for 2024 general election.

NDC Party Leadership Should Curtail Things Now

It is high time party leadership set some restrictive roles before we reach the uncontrollable state where suspicion, sabotages and undermining of one another will cause deep cracks in the party.

It is a known knowledge that when John Mahama is coming, no victory loving party members will contest him, but we should leave that to JM and party leadership to consider , that notwithstanding, some utterances should be curbed to avoid further cracks .

Bismark Kophi pointed out that, 2024 victory is highly possible and simple, but if we don’t control the over zealousness among we the supporters of various potential contestants at all party executives levels, will be the source of our impending doom.

“Those lacing their boots should do so in decorous manner if a must to do, and must control their support base from going personal on others .
That nevertheless, we shall continue to boldly talk about certain behaviors of leaders which is undermining, populist and head knocking” he said.

NDC Party Leadership Should Curtail Things Now

In conclusion, let us all keep praying for the party leadership in this stormy moments of the great NDC, he pleaded to his fellow comrades.
We shall overcome, God is our helper.

So what is wrong when the party agreed to allow general to serve on the board to help the speaker and our minority leader to put measures in place to steering the affairs of NDC towards victory 2024?

Remember, party decision needs to be taken into consideration to help the board as well, so surely a party person must be appointed by the speaker to serve both national and NDC interest.

Honorable Kennedy Agyapong has descended on the communications director for the national democratic congress, Sammy Gyamfi for allegedly making certain claims about the Presidency and about government.

Sammy Gyamfi is tagged as one of the sharp mouths of the NDC.

This was a nickname to mean that he is one of the young members of the party but has powerful words which causes fear among the NPP members.

Sammy Gyamfi has been a key player in the current unveiling of corrupt activities which are allegedly going on in government. This alleged activities are corrupt activities by some NPP officials who think after finding themselves in government can do whatever their hearts pleases.

Upon several warnings from some NPP officials concerning the rightful use of certain words, it seems Sammy Gyamfi is not ready to accept change on that path.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has tasked members of the opposition to pay close attention to the achievements of his government.

This he explains will enable the NDC to appreciate evidence of his government’s industrialisation drive policy, the One District One Factory policy.

The president Speaking in Parliament today in his first State of the Nation Address of his second term reiterated his government’s commitment to industrialisation by stating some progress made under the 1D1F policy.

The President among other things outlined that due to the policy, 232 projects including 76 completed and functional factories are being delivered.

“We are determined to make our own things and the Akufo-Addo administration will continue the agenda of rapid industrialisation with the aim of transforming the structure of the Ghanaian economy from one dependent on the production of raw materials to a value-added industrialised economy.

“Under the One District One Factory Policy, 232 projects are at various stages of completion. This includes 76 operating 1D1F companies whiles 112, including five medium-sized agro-processing factories and 63 common user facilities are under construction,” the President stated.

The president’s claims, however, courted doubtful shouts from the members of the Minority in Parliament for which the president retorted “open your eyes, you’ll see them.”

SONA21: Agyapa Deal is Coming back to Parliament

President Akufo-Addo has announced in his State of the Nation Address (SONA) that government will table the controversial Agyapa deal before Parliament again.

He said the government will come back to engage Parliament on the steps it intends to take on the future of the Agyapa transaction.

The President in his SONA said his administration would engage the 8th Parliament on ways to ensure the deal sees the light of day.

He said: “the government will come back to engage the House on the steps it intends to take on the future of the Agyapa transaction”.

A corruption risk assessment report by the former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu concluded that there were breaches in the Public Procurement Act and Public Financial Management Act with regards to how transaction advisors were procured.

Martin Amidu stated that the process raised reasonable suspicion of bid-rigging and corruption.

He also claimed that the procurement of service providers for the transaction also gave rise to possible cronyism, nepotism, and could result in illicit financial activities and money laundering.

He later resigned from his work citing interference from the President.

In his three page letter addressed to President Akufo-Addo, he indicated that his decision is to “enable Your Excellency to take steps to appoint a replacement to that position as required by law.”

According to him, President Akufo-Addo was not been able to ensure his independence and freedom of action.

“The one condition upon which I accepted to be nominated as the Special Prosecutor when you invited me to your Office on 10th January 2018 was your firm promise to me that you will respect and ensure same by your Government for my independence and freedom of action as the Special Prosecutor,” he emphasised.

He stated that the trauma he faced regarding his risk assessment report of the controversial Agyapa deal is not enough reasons for him to bow out as well as interference in other investigations by some State officials.
